Kia ora, my name is Isobel Pickering and I am excited to be the teacher in Rūma Kea this year and part of team Te Pihinga.

In my spare time I love spending time outdoors, reading and baking. In class we will be exploring the AROHA values and using PB4L (Positive Behaviour For Learning) that will support a safe learning environment where we can all celebrate mistakes and feel valued for what makes us unique. I will support students to take ownership of their own learning journey, encouraging them to become independent learners. We will be using Sea Saw consistently to show what Rūma Kea has been up to.

While I enjoy teaching all areas of the NZ Curriculum, I have a particular passion for the arts which I am looking forward to sharing with my students. I am particularly looking forward to celebrating success with learners and their whānau as the year progresses.
