Our Board
Our Turaki School Board is made up of seven members: Buffy Turner, our Principal, and Toria Arahanga, our Staff Representative. The remaining five members are parent representatives: Julia Loft (Presiding Member), Jono Arahanga, Jen Bates, Ricky Lyford, and Sariah Mason.
The Board plays an important role in ensuring Turaki Primary School runs effectively and continues to be a safe, supportive environment where our tamariki can learn, grow, and be successful.

setting goals for Turaki Primary School and ensuring these are met. These goals focus on our tamariki’s learning and achievement, as well as other important areas such as ensuring our school buildings and grounds are safe, welcoming, and enjoyable to use.

ensures clear policies are in place to guide decision-making and support the effective running of the school. The Board is responsible for employing staff and ensuring Turaki Primary School is a supportive, respectful, and safe place for everyone to work and learn.

monitors the school’s finances and sets budgets to ensure resources are used wisely and in the best interests of our learners. The Board sets the school’s Strategic Plan and develops an annual plan to support the achievement of this long-term vision.
